The things she says...
Are really going to get me in trouble some day. Really.
Ryan went over to a friends house the other day to play while I did baby carrier demos. They were having their carpets cleaned, and so all the furniture was on their small strips of wood in between carpeted areas.
Ryan walks upstairs, see the furniture in disarray, and says, "Holy Shit! Your furniture is all messed up!"
Now, this ought not come as a surprise to those who know me well. I swear like a drunk sailor, and though I try to keep it down, it keeps bubbling up, like a gross belch. It's only fitting that my child would choose to use this word as a exclamation. Part of me is so proud that she used it correctly, and of course, part of me is horrified, thinking we may HAVE to homeschool her due to her choice turns of phrase not being entirely kosher at preschool.
Maybe I ought to try to stop swearing? Ahhhh, shit. I already have one resolution for the year.
Maybe next year.

A glass of wine.
After a very long day, with an exceedingly well-behaved and patient toddler, nothing is quite as lovely as a glass of red wine and some frivolous internet surfing.
What am I surfing for? Mama's Day ideas. What to make my mama, my mama-in-law, and all the other fantastic mamas I know. It must be fabulous, handmade, and quick. It needn't be the same thing for each. It does need to be awesome.
Photography?
Coffee Cozies?
Tea Wallets?
Time? (can I buy that somewhere?)
Chocolate? (I can make fudge!)
What do I want most for Mama's Day this year?
Time. With the kid, with the husband, with myself. With my fabulous friends.
And a glass of wine.
And maybe, what I should give my friends is a bottle of wine and an hour.

Next on the list?
OK, I'm on it this weekend...
Tulle skirt
Nope, my daughter doesn't really NEED another tulle skirt, but she loves them, I love them, and they're fast and easy, especially if I get my serger out and can hem it that way! Even faster!
Pics to come!

Heather Ross Summer Blouse
I love this shirt...I'm going to make a million and live in them. And I'm going to make dresses out of them and live in them. And maybe even a few sleeveless tops, or shorter sleeved. I don't know, but I do plan to find all the 1 1/2 pieces of fabric I have and sew, sew, sew!
From Weekend Sewing, by Heather Ross. Not really a book for beginners, unless you have a friend who can help you muddle through it.
Heather Ross Flower Girl Dress
Love, love, love this little dress...it whipped up so fast, and was so cute. I started it at 630, finished it at 815, and still managed to wrangle a toddler into bed during that time frame. Super easy.
My only issue? It runs SMALL! I cut out the size 4, and had to add some stretch to the sides. I could have probably just added more of the yellow, but I had the cool orange stretch, so thought I'd try it.
Ryan loved it...even just trying on the bodice, she paraded around the house wearing it like a bikini top. Which of course, got me thinking that it might just make a cute little bikini top! Or even just a summer shirt by making it shorter. It was so quick, and took so little fabric, I see this one coming up over and over in her closet this summer.
Added action shots...her smile says it best!

My Spring dress
Bunnies!
I am not a religious person, and I really don't understand what the resurection of Christ has to do with bunnies that bring eggs and candy to small children, but hey, I'll play along. I love spring, bunnies, chicks, and all that fun stuff! I whipped these up to bring along to the Easter dinner we're attending. one for Ryan, one for Mr. Man. Ryan loves hers...I hope X loves his as well!
